Ballerina

Image
Read Psalm 121:1-8 When television coverage of the Winter Olympics brought visions of twirling, whirling ice skaters into our home, we had two diminutive skaters in our living room.  Spin after spin catapulted them into tangled heaps of arms and legs on the floor.  Finally, my five-year-old asked in exasperation, "Mommy, how do they spin so fast?"  I tried to explain a technique learned many years ago when I was the ballerina-to-be the technique of spotting.   Start by focusing your sight on a fixed spot and with each rapid turn of the head, return your gaze to the same place .  No dramatic improvement resulted from my little ballerina's initial efforts as she began trying this technique.   Spotting does not come naturally at any age .  She and her sister continued to look like they were playing a musical game of Twister, ending in the same heap on the floor.  But slowly, ever so slowly, spotting took effect.  Her turns were more controll...

why doubt if you have faith?

Image
credits Matthew 14:31  Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him.  “You of little faith,”  he said, “why did you doubt?” I have an issue of being a worrier. I worry a lot. I think a lot.  think+worry=me and I know that's not what God wants me to be.   So why worry if I have a big GOD? I have prepared myself yesterday to get my grades in school. Standing in a verrrrrrrrry looooong line, patiently I waited before I could head on to the person in-charge with all the manual processing of releasing the grades. Suddenly, I felt something that I don't want to feel in that situation - butterflies in my heart! So I stopped and prayed, "Lord, please let me see a passing grade." And there my grades are! PRAISE THE LORD! I passed all the subjects! What a relief! THANK YOU LORD! Next step:  Check the Schedule for Summer Classes. I went to the enrollment area and saw thicker lines of students.  Schedules for the subjects were projected. ...

The Inconsistent Blogger

Image
credits I am missing out a lot of things in mind to share in my blog. I am almost missing out to visit my blog even if it's my default page in my computer. Oh, I say, I've been tooooooooooooo busy :( February: It was a month of challenge for me.  It's the month when I can totally feel the life of a student and a teacher. It was a bit hard.  Doing exam papers today for my students' exam next week, then review for tomorrow's exam or prepare for the report, etc.  It was totally exhausting.  BUT, I thank my God because He never fails to give me strength and push me to keep going and indeed, God enabled me! March: It was still a month of challenge for me. FINALS FINALS FINALS. Aside from studying and preparing things for final paper works, March was also a time for dancing, rehearsals, preparations for the graduation/sem-ender. It was also a time of success and victory for the Lord. March 24 marked the 17th Recognition/Graduation Exercises of the school I...

What's Your Favorite Color?

Image
Hello Readers! What's up? I have one question for you, What's your Favorite Color? Does it sound like your mom or your teacher asking you the same question years back. :) I don't have a particular favorite color though, I like white, black, purple, blue, and pink! We even tend to give meanings to each colors, right? For example, WHITE, that means purity. That is why a bride wears white dress in her  wedding!  RED, that means blood or war probably. In our country's flag, color BLUE is over RED- that means PEACE and FREEDOM are far above WAR and SUFFERINGS of our country. How about PURPLE? In my advertising class in college, we discussed about a very famous brand campaign ad and the importance of Purple in their products - which means AGEing. You know, women who still look young and fresh and beautiful even if they're 50 or 60 years of age! You see, we got lots of colors! Look around, and you'll see a lot. Without them, surrounding would be boring, dull and l...

IKAW BA SI GALING?

Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. -Matthew 19:17 A person who is a good person is an individual of lofty ideals, noble purposes, strong character, reliable conduct and trustworthy integrity. The only one who truly embodies all of those characteristics is Jesus Christ. We come to understand the word goodness as we it alongside the word righteousness. Someone has said that justice is what God gives to us that we deserve. Goodness goes beyond that and is that which God gives us beyond what we deserve. The great characteristic of goodness as it is found in relationship with righteousness is generosity. It is what a person gets that isn’t deserved. It is what God gives to a person that could never be earned. Goodness in its relationship to righteousness teaches us about generosity. You don’t have to be rich to be generous. But what do you do with what you have? We need to take a good long look at our lives and ask God how our attitudes have been to the ...

MINISTRY = SERVICE

Image
No Ministry Apart from Service Image here 1 Peter 4:10 At each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. “Ministry” and “service” are from the same Greek word and mean essentially the same thing. There is no ministry apart from service. No one can have an impact in ministry who is not also willing to serve, to be a servant. There is always a price tag attached to service. It might be health; it might be convenience; it might be aggravation; it might be humility. Whatever the cost, it is what adorns the neck of those who minister. Ministry in the church is like being a parent. The most successful parents are those who learn to sacrifice for their children. And while we parents think our children never are going to realize what we have sacrificed in service to them, they eventually do. And what we have sacrificed for them comes back to us as the fruit of a close and intimate relationship with them. And it’s the same way in ...

workplace.

Image
This is my desktop wallpaper in the office. Actually last night, its background was white.  Well, I used the white background for an illusion or reflection as I start having video classes (so that I would look whiter on the screen ^^)  But as I look at it with its black background, I think it's also cool :) Another midweek has come. And I thank God for this another day. Like what's in Luke, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD. I might not know yet what lies ahead of me today in my workplace, but one thing I know for sure, that God is always at work at me! I have been experiencing and facing some "giants" lately.  I know God is testing my faith in Him more. I know He is up to something with me, He's teaching me something. And He wants me to join Him. I thank God for the trials and circumstances I have been experiencing not just in my workplace but in every aspect of my life.  I thank God that despite of our imperfect world , there is a PERFECT GOD with me! Looking for HELP?

Image
photo here Look Above for Help Luke 1:37 With God nothing will be impossible. Over and over again in the Old Testament God is described as the Maker of heaven and earth. The Hebrews’ worldview was based on the fact that their God was the Maker of all things, and as such He had the power and strength to meet all their needs. Therefore it was part of the continual confession, almost as a reminder, that their God (who is also our God) made all things – nothing was too hard for Him. God created all things and by Him all things are held together. Now if God holds the entire universe together, is it not reasonable to assume that He can hold the different aspects of your individual life together as well? He created us for the journey and sustains us through the journey as well. So when you arrive at a place on your journey and you don’t know what to do, and you say “Lord, I need help,” remember this: The One to whom you are praying is the One who made heaven and earth. He can help...

FAITHFUL

I was browsing my Ipod last night before I sleep. I was so attached with Chris Tomlin's album "And if our God is for us (deluxe edition)" There's something with his song that uplifts my mind, my spirit. Not because of the "lyrics" or the "singer" or even the "melody" in it. Those were just secondary of my reasons. I believed I was touched by the song because I know it was composed out of his inspiration towards our Living God. Indeed, our God is alive! He was risen and He will come! This coming Sunday, it'll be another Father's Day. Again, another Father's day without even celebrating it with my earthly father. By the way, his name is Mr. George Alpajora Magsino. Let's always celebrate our Father's love for us!

Fast Delivery!

Image
photo at debragrayelliott.blogspot.com HATE LATE? This slogan of an ad must be familiar to you. You might not be patient to wait for something to fill in your stomach. How about in the concept of PRAYING? Do you pray and always wanting to be answered immediately? or you still pray even if there's no answer yet? They say when you pray, God will only respond in 3 ways: YES, NO, and WAIT. HATE LATE when it comes to prayer? God has never been late in answering our prayers. He wants us to WAIT for He will answer in His own terms, in His beautiful and perfect time. What are you thankful for? "I thank God for His perfect delivery in my prayer!" Let me share you my story... C ouple of weeks ago, I was sending resume to different media companies. I am still employed up to this time, but I still dream that one day, I could work in a media company. As you know, I am an English teacher for Korean students. I am capable of teaching but I am not a licensed tea...
