After typhoon Ondoy hit the Philippines, we are also included of those who were affected by that tragedy.   There was a terrible flood in area. It happened before way back 2000 or 2001; after several years of stillness, we didn’t imagine it will happen again. (Typhoon Ondoy was really a huge problem last year). We are workaholics.   Time is gold for my mother who operates her own company.   My younger sister’s school schedule then was so tight; it’s her graduation year.   And I, as preschool teacher then, really needs to work harder to earn money.   The whole flood thing in the community really affects us. You’re a young person; to whom should you listen? How will you know what to do? Jimmy Carter, former American president and a devout Christian, said, “We must adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles.” It makes no difference whether it’s the first century, or the twenty-first century, God’s principles remain the same. If you want wise direction, bypass the world’s “wisdom”. Open your Bible. Don’t get your wisdom from the world. Get it from the Word.

My devotion for today is about CHARACTER.  There was two points to remember (not to mention that there are lots to say about character according to the Bible) Does your reputation reflect your Character? Proverbs 27:21 " The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but man is tested by the priase he receives ."        God is more interested in our character than in our reputation.  We could do an act of giving to other people but infact, deep within  us, we don't actually feel doing it; and yet we still do it! Why? because we are conscious about what people might say about our reputation.  We, in human perspective, must always have a good reputation.  It isn't bad to have that one though, but in God's perspective, He wants our character than our reputation.  His goal is for us to be a righteous person, having a Christlike character.       We should allow the Lord to refine our character and b...

Proverbs 6:20-22 says "My son, keep your father's commands and do not forsake your mother's teaching.Bind them upon your heart forever; fasten them around your neck. When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you." Proverbs 10:1 says " The proverbs of Solomon:A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother." Proverbs 22:8 says " Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your forefathers." Exodus 20:12 says "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
