A Perfect Timing

Sunday: December 26, 2010 My boyfriend and I, together with some dear friends of us were at the mall when he showed me about the text message that he received from his ex girlfriend. She wants us to visit her at their place in Bulacan. But, the time didn’t permit us to go. It was a sudden excitement within me after hearing that invitation.  What an early answered prayer Lord!! Earlier at the church, our pastor had a challenge for us to GIVE UP OUR GRUDGES THROUGH FORGIVENESS. He told us to stand up if we want to have that commitment to give up our grievances towards people who had hurt us or the other way around.  I stood up while silently praying this prayer about my boyfriend’s ex girlfriend. I prayed that in His time, we will meet again not to talk about the same man we are in love with, but to have a closure, forgiveness and reconciliation. She was the one of the people I consider I’m having grudges with. As I’ve learned: GRUDGES is a SELF-DESTRUCTION; GRUDGES destroy MARRIAGE!

Today, it was a hectic Friday for me. We all thought we would have classes with our highschool students, which schedules are only for Monday til Thursday. But, because they need to attend make up classes, they were scheduled to attend this day! But suddenly, we received a good news! NO HAESA CLASSES TODAY!! :P We were all screaming and yelling for joy! We were like students who heard a news that CLASSES ARE SUSPENDED!! Today, I finished all my evaluations so that I have nothing to leave behind when I come back on Monday. Thank God! I'm done with all my task for this week! Today, we had a celebration (whole evening teachers). They asked me to lead in a prayer. It was such a priviledge for me to pray! I felt an overwhelming feeling a while ago. CHRISTIANITY IS A LIFE STYLE, THEREFORE PRAYING IS A LIFESTYLE TOO! Today, we also had gift giving! OH!! aside from a Mickey Mouse pillow, I also got this one!!! Thanks to my hardworking team captain MARIAN and head teacher WACKY.

The Effective Praise and Worship Leader

I just want to share some insights on being an Effective Praise and Worship Leader. I am part of the Worship Ministry in our church (UBC-University Baptist Church in Manila).  I apologize if I couldn't inject the reference of this article (my bad, very poor memory). C'mon! try to read on :) God bless you! Dr. Ron Kenoly is a confident, fun man. In less than 5 minutes he had the entire room uncomfortable. He directly asked people questions, and when they answered incorrectly, he would simply say, “No. Who has the right answer?” When frustrated by the third incorrect definition of the word “praise,” he said, “Come on people, you are supposed to be worship leaders. You should know this stuff.” He was very firm, and very intimidating. I enjoyed watching him make people squirm. And while his talk was right out of his book (that I have not read), I found it very insightful, and from my limited experience, spot on.
